The most widely applied process for the production of plastic elements is referred to as “injection molding.” A number of different products are produced with the use of injection molding. These products vary to a great extent in their shape, size, use and complexity.
The entire process of injection molding involves the use of an injection molding machine, unprocessed plastic and obviously a mold. First of all, the plastic is melted in the injection molding machine, and then afterward injected into the mold. Here, the plastic cools down and coagulates into the final stage.
Injection molding is typically employed in manufacturing emaciated plastic parts for a range of applications, in which the most common one is plastic housings.
The plastic housing is actually a thin-walled area which often requires plenty of ribs and bosses on the inside. You can see these plastic housings in your home as they’re used in a number of different products such as in household appliances, electronics, and power tools. Some other plastic housing products include various types of open containers like buckets.
Also, injection molding is used to create so many items of daily use such as toothbrushes and small toys made of plastic. Medical items such as syringes and valves are also produced through injection molding process.
